Rantau, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) – Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuljono acknowledged for the first time he found an infrastructure project was funded by private companies’ CSR.
The minister speaking as he inaugurated a bridge and overpass to build in Tapin District and Barito Kuala District, South Kalimantan.
“This is the first time I have found a corporate social assistance fund or CSR is used to build infrastructure like this,” he said after officiating the Sungai Puting Bridge, Candi Laras Utara sub-district in Tapin.
The bridge and overpass, which is built by four companies, namely Antang Gunung Meratus, PT Hasnur, PT Talenta Bumi, and PT BMB, is on the national road of Marabahan-Margasari with a total fund of Rp189 billion.
“This is a good and new program model for me that using CSR funds for development like this. Usually, I find CSR fund in the form of staple food or training,” he pointed out.
Meanwhile, Regent of Tapin HM Arifin Arpan said the district has several times used CSR funds to build infrastructure.
“This is in line with the instruction of President Joko Widodo to continue to carry out infrastructure development that is able to strengthen people’s economy,” he pointed out.
The regent hoped, companies in the district to become partners for the government in the development and in welfare of the people. “As long as companies are working in Tapin, of course they have to play the role in the development of Tapin,” he stated.
The regent also hopes people to play their role for the success of development in Tapin.
